Finance Officer – National

About the role

The Finance Officer – National will ensure accurate, transparent, and compliant financial management for Johanniter’s operations and field projects across Lebanon. You will maintain accounting records, monitor budgets, and support partner reporting while adhering to both Johanniter and donor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify, and document all financial transactions in line with Johanniter’s accounting standards and donor requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records in Excel and the Sun System, ensuring correct coding to budget lines and cost centres.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, bank reconciliations, and cash‑book updates for Finance & Compliance Managers.
• Support the preparation of donor and internal financial reports, ensuring contractual compliance.
• Review partner financial reports and documentation for accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
• Participate in annual budget preparation, financial forecasts, and revisions with program teams.
• Monitor project expenditures, flag potential under‑ or over‑spending, and provide corrective feedback.
• Assist in financial monitoring visits to partners and ensure procurement and payment procedures follow Johanniter policies.
• Support audit preparation by ensuring complete and properly filed financial documentation.

Required profile

• Strong alignment with Johanniter’s values and leadership principles, promoting trust, diversity, open communication, wellbeing, and responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with program teams, partners, and donors.
• Experience in financial management within NGOs or humanitarian contexts.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify financial risks early.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using the Sun System financial software.
