Field Officer – National Position

About the role

AVSI is seeking a motivated Field Officer to support the implementation of humanitarian activities across Lebanon. Working under the Field Coordinator, you will conduct field visits, engage with communities, and ensure that project activities are carried out safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Field Coordinator in implementing field activities and monitoring day‑to‑day operations.
• Conduct regular field visits with supervisors and technical teams to verify work, identify gaps, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Engage with community groups, shelter focal points and local actors to facilitate access, acceptance and coordination of activities.
• Assist with beneficiary selection verification and ensure criteria are applied consistently.
• Document distributions, collect beneficiary signatures and handover documents, and support logistical operations as needed.
• Follow health, safety and security procedures, reporting any incidents or risks immediately.
• Provide basic technical checks, collect photographic evidence and support simple quality‑assurance tasks.
• Submit weekly field updates, maintain accurate documentation and promptly escalate protection, safeguarding or security concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in field‑level humanitarian projects, including implementation and monitoring.
• Proven ability to compile, clean and validate data before upload.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with communities and local authorities.
• Basic understanding of WASH project components and construction site requirements.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles, accountability and safeguarding policies.

Required skills

• Experience with data‑collection tools such as ActivityInfo, KoboToolbox, ODK.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data cleaning and validation.
