Field Officer – Humanitarian Projects (Lebanon)

About the role

The Field Officer will support day‑to‑day implementation of humanitarian activities in collective shelters and displaced‑person communities in Akkar, Lebanon. Working closely with the Field Coordinator and technical teams, the role ensures timely, safe, and effective delivery of services to vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular field visits with supervisors and technical staff to monitor activities, verify work quality, and identify operational gaps.
• Facilitate community engagement by liaising with local groups, shelter focal points, and authorities to secure access and coordination.
• Assist in beneficiary selection verification, ensuring criteria are consistently applied.
• Document distributions, field activities, and logistical operations, collecting signatures and hand‑over documents.
• Follow health, safety, and security protocols; report incidents immediately.
• Provide basic technical support such as site checks, simple QA, and photographic evidence collection.
• Submit weekly field updates to the Field Coordinator and MEAL department, including progress, challenges, feedback, and photos.
• Maintain accurate field documentation and archive according to organizational standards.
• Escalate any programmatic, protection, safeguarding, or security concerns without delay.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in field‑level humanitarian project implementation and monitoring.
• Proven ability to work with communities, local authorities, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail, organized, and able to manage competing tasks and deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience with data‑collection tools such as ActivityInfo, Kobo, ODK, and Excel.
• Ability to compile, clean, and validate data prior to upload.
• Basic technical understanding of WASH project components and construction site requirements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
