Education Officer – Non-formal Education

About the role

The Education Officer will support the delivery of Save the Children’s non‑formal education programme, working closely with the Education Coordinator and programme managers. The role is field‑focused, with 75% of time spent on‑site, and requires rapid adaptation to changing humanitarian contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to implementing partners to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of non‑formal education components.
• Support community outreach and awareness sessions for families, establishing mechanisms that promote access to formal education.
• Assist the Education Coordinator with budget monitoring and expenditure tracking.
• Participate in Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes and facilitate training for parents, community members, and educators.
• Collect and report data on Syrian refugees and other vulnerable children, focusing on programme targets and outcomes.
• Work directly with children, educators, facilitators, parents, partners, and other stakeholders in the field.
• Provide information on education activities and refer beneficiaries to relevant social services.
• Maintain strict adherence to Child Protection principles, including confidentiality.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing non‑formal education programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Willingness to spend the majority of work time in the field and adapt to emergency contexts.
• Level 3 Child Safeguarding clearance (regular contact with children).
• Ability to collaborate with diverse partners, including NGOs, local authorities, and community groups.
