DevOps Support Engineer – Operations

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Support Engineer to join the IS Operations team of a leading fintech company in Beirut. The role focuses on operating, monitoring and troubleshooting mission‑critical platforms and services that support global managed‑services teams and end‑clients. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure platform stability and business continuity. This position does not involve building CI/CD pipelines from scratch but rather emphasizes operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support in‑house platforms, micro‑services and containerised workloads running on AWS.
• Diagnose and resolve software, infrastructure and operational incidents.
• Handle tickets for incidents, service requests and changes via ITSM tools.
• Respond to automated alerts, ensure system health and maintain service continuity.
• Execute Saturday production releases with accuracy and accountability.
• Perform root‑cause analysis for recurring problems and escalate complex cases.
• Carry out routine maintenance, software updates and security patching.
• Maintain and improve runbooks, operational documentation and knowledge‑base articles.
• Collaborate with internal teams during shift handovers and recommend process improvements.
• Provide end‑user support while meeting SLA targets, working rotating 24/6 shifts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in IT support, DevOps support or systems operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting).
• Working knowledge of core AWS services.
• Understanding of micro‑services architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools and incident/change/service‑request workflows.
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and release management.
• Scripting experience in Bash or Python (a plus).
