Consultant – Guidebook on Jordan Personal Data Protection Law

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) seeks a qualified consultant to develop a comprehensive guidebook on Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law. The assignment is remote and will run for approximately 16 weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyse Jordanian personal data protection legislation and related regional frameworks.
• Prepare a detailed report in Arabic of at least 30 pages, including a 2‑4 page executive summary.
• Structure the document with an automatically updated table of contents, lists of tables and figures, and proper citations.
• Provide scanned copies of the first page of all source materials used.
• Ensure the final deliverable contains less than 20% previously published text and passes ESCWA plagiarism checks.
• Maintain confidentiality and transfer all intellectual property rights to ESCWA.

Required profile

• Proven experience in legal research, preferably in data protection or privacy law.
• Ability to produce high‑quality written work in Arabic.
• Familiarity with Jordanian legislation and the Arab digital‑economy context.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to academic referencing standards.
