Consultant for Personal Data Protection Law Development in Yemen

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) seeks an experienced consultant to produce a comprehensive Arabic report on the development of a personal data protection law in Yemen. The assignment is remote, lasts 16 weeks, and requires high‑quality legal analysis and clear documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a comprehensive report (minimum 30 pages) in Arabic on the development of personal data protection law in Yemen.
• Produce a 2‑4 page executive summary.
• Include a table of contents, automatically updated lists of tables and figures, and properly referenced sources.
• Deliver all documents in MS‑Word (.docx) format and submit electronically to the designated focal point.
• Ensure originality; plagiarism must be below 20 % and all sources clearly cited, with photocopies or scans of reference material.

Required profile

• Proven experience in legal research, preferably in data protection, cyber law, or related fields.
• Ability to write high‑quality analytical reports in Arabic.
• Familiarity with UN/ESCWA reporting standards and citation practices.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS‑Word for document formatting.
