Construction Manager

About the role

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking a Construction Manager to join its International Mobile Staff pool. The role involves planning, coordinating and monitoring construction and rehabilitation activities for projects in challenging environments such as Haiti, the Central African Republic and Chad.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and oversee construction or rehabilitation projects in line with MSF standards and local building practices.
• Collaborate with Project Coordinators and Technical Logistics staff to define project scope, budget and timelines.
• Monitor implementation of works, ensuring compliance with protocols, safety standards and quality requirements.
• Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, material verification and warehouse inventory control.
• Prepare and track budgets, process invoices and support financial reporting for construction activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing construction or rehabilitation projects, preferably in humanitarian or remote settings.
• Ability to work flexibly for 6‑12 month assignments in austere environments.
• Strong coordination and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in French is required; English proficiency is essential.
