Communication Officer

About the role

The Communication Unit at Saint George University of Beirut (SGUB) is looking for a Communication Officer who reports to the Director of Communications. The role develops and implements digital communication strategies to strengthen SGUB's online presence, manages social media accounts, creates engaging content and optimizes digital channels to reach the target audience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital communication strategies aligned with SGUB's goals, identify target audiences and tailor approaches to engage them.
• Manage and oversee social media accounts, create, curate and schedule content, and monitor channels for trends and opportunities.
• Use SEO strategies to improve visibility and search rankings, and analyze campaign data to report on key performance indicators.
• Create visually appealing multimedia content such as graphics, photos and videos, and guide the design of marketing collateral like brochures, posters, print, radio and TV commercials.
• Oversee the purchase and production of promotional items and gifts, maintain photo and video archives, and assist in organizing university events.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, share strategy updates, and stay up to date with digital communication tools.

Required profile

• BA/MA degree with 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, graphic design or a related field.
• Proven experience in digital communication, social media management and content creation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English and Arabic is required (French is advantageous).
• Experience in printing processes and production supervision is a plus.

Required skills

• Computer literacy: Photoshop, InDesign and other design tools, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• SEO knowledge and familiarity with digital communication tools.
