Civil Engineer Consultant Specialist (3-month contract)

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Civil Engineer Consultant Specialist to support the Wadi Khaled Social Development Center in North Lebanon. This short‑term assignment (three months) requires daily on‑site presence four days a week to assist with infrastructure assessments and construction‑related activities within the Local Development for Stabilization Project.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical assessments of existing civil infrastructure and identify rehabilitation needs.
• Prepare design specifications, cost estimates and technical reports for small‑scale construction works.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of construction activities, ensuring compliance with UNDP standards and local regulations.
• Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs and community representatives to align engineering solutions with project objectives.
• Provide technical input for risk assessments, especially related to climate‑change impacts on infrastructure.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in civil engineering design, construction supervision or infrastructure rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with Lebanese construction codes and standards.
• Ability to work on‑site in Wadi Khaled and travel within the region as needed.
