Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Fintech Startup (Equity)

About the role

We are an early‑stage fintech startup in Lebanon building digital payment infrastructure for an underserved market. We are looking for a world‑class technical leader to join the founding team as Chief Technology Officer, sharing equity and shaping the product from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall technical strategy and product roadmap.
• Architect, develop and maintain secure, scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Lead and grow a team of engineers, QA specialists and DevOps professionals.
• Ensure platform compliance with Lebanese financial regulations and international security standards (PCI DSS, AML/CFT, e‑KYC).
• Make infrastructure decisions including cloud architecture, database design, redundancy and uptime.
• Drive API integrations with external financial institutions and service providers.
• Establish engineering best practices, security protocols and documentation standards.
• Report on technical KPIs such as uptime, API response times, transaction accuracy and security audit results.

Required profile

• Proven senior technical leadership experience (CTO, VP Engineering or equivalent).
• Hands‑on fintech background with deep understanding of financial platform building, regulation and security.
• Track record of building and scaling engineering teams in early‑stage ventures.
• Based in Lebanon or willing to relocate.
