Cashier - AUB

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our bookstore team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling transactions accurately and providing assistance with book selections and inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers and help them locate books or answer questions.
• Open and close cash registers, ensuring accurate cash handling.
• Process cash, credit‑card and sales transactions following company procedures.
• Maintain appropriate petty‑cash levels and handle returns or exchanges with manager approval.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Stay informed about pricing policies, promotions, and new book releases.
• Support visual merchandising, promotional events, and in‑store displays.
• Assist with online, warehouse, and department return requests and price changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Literature, Documentation or a related field.
• 0‑5 years of relevant experience in retail or customer service.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work weekends or holidays when needed.
• Strong communication skills in English; French is a plus.
• Good organizational, stress‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
