Buyer II – Procurement & Planning

About the role

The Buyer II will own purchasing and material planning activities for assigned product lines, ensuring that components are available to meet production and new‑product‑introduction (NPI) schedules. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this position works closely with engineering, supply chain and operations teams to drive timely and cost‑effective procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Place and manage purchase orders, aligning them with production schedules and demand signals.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules; proactively mitigate risks and shortages.
• Support material planning for production, prototype and low‑volume NPI builds.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain and operations to ensure material availability for builds and test.
• Maintain and update ERP data, including lead times and planning parameters.
• Execute MRP signals, handling planned orders, reschedules and cancellations.
• Track inventory levels, support cycle counts and drive excess/obsolete mitigation.
• Assist supplier communications such as RFQs, order confirmations and delivery follow‑up.
• Identify long‑lead items and develop early procurement strategies for NPI programs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement and planning processes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in a technical field is a plus.
• 2‑5 years of experience in purchasing or material planning.
• Experience supporting NPI or prototype builds.
• Familiarity with PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies or complex hardware systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel abilities, including pivot tables, lookups and basic data analysis.
