Backend Systems Integration Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Systems Integration Engineer to join a small, stealth‑stage technical team building a confidential product in partnership with the World Summit on Innovation. The role is hands‑on and fast‑paced, requiring you to design and ship reliable backend features under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Design backend flows from incomplete requirements.
• Model data across relational and non‑relational systems.
• Define API contracts and service boundaries.
• Design workflow states and transitions.
• Handle events, retries, failures, duplicate messages, and ensure idempotency.
• Validate AI‑generated outputs before backend execution.
• Debug across services, databases, queues, and integrations.
• Collaborate directly with product, UX, and engineering teams.
• Ship reliable backend features under demanding workload.

Required profile

• Comfortable working with ambiguous or incomplete requirements.
• Ability to thrive in a demanding, early‑stage environment with long hours.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset for complex system integration challenges.
