About the role
The British Council is seeking an Arts Project Manager to lead impactful arts programmes that connect artists, creative organisations and cultural sectors across the UK and Lebanon. You will build strong partnerships, ensure high‑quality delivery and embed inclusive, anti‑racist practices throughout the portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Use local arts sector insight and global collaboration to design programmes that meet country needs and support UK arts organisations.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK arts priorities and identify collaboration opportunities between UK and in‑country arts sectors.
- Provide specialist expertise to global Arts teams, ensuring programmes are locally relevant and delivered to global standards.
- Embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and anti‑racist practices across all activities.
- Support planning and delivery of the country arts portfolio, aligning internal teams around strategic objectives.
- Leverage digital products, services and channels to maximise impact and sustainability.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across the arts and wider cultural sectors, staying connected to key trends.
- Champion the diversity of the UK creative industries and develop communications that showcase impactful stories.
- Manage project finances, contracts, procurement, grants and reporting to ensure effective delivery.
- Lead project management plans, resolve issues and hold partners and consultants accountable for results.
Required profile
- Degree or equivalent experience; professional qualification in project management or comparable work experience.
- Good knowledge of current trends and practices in at least one sector of the arts and creative industries in Lebanon.
- Demonstrated experience working on national arts or creative industry projects.
- Understanding of current arts trends and practices in the UK.
- Proven ability to deliver international arts projects and foster cross‑cultural collaboration.
- Proficient written and spoken English and Arabic.
