Air Conditioning Technician

About the role

The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon is seeking a qualified Air Conditioning Technician on a 6‑month consultancy basis. The incumbent will ensure uninterrupted operation of all air‑conditioning and related HVAC equipment at the UNSCOL premises in Villa Sehnaoui, Yarze, Baabda.

Key responsibilities

• Install window and split‑type air‑conditioning units.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, gas refilling and monthly check‑ups on all HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose faults, conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for both domestic and commercial systems.
• Install, service and modify chilled‑water central cooling plants, VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) units, DC‑inverter and digital‑scroll ACs.
• Set up temperature‑monitoring devices and data loggers in sensitive areas such as server and electricity rooms.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial appliances including refrigerators, gas cooking equipment, dishwashers, electric water heaters, boilers, washing machines and dryers.
• Provide technical specifications and spare‑part lists in advance of equipment failures.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs and standby duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate in HVAC engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in commercial/industrial HVAC and refrigeration installations.
• Experience with heavy‑duty kitchen appliances and central cooling plants is desirable.
• Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English (both oral and written).
