AI Systems & Automation Engineer

About the role

Ethos is seeking an experienced AI Systems & Automation Engineer to design and build intelligent workflows that move work across the organization. This project‑based role focuses on creating reliable, scalable systems that connect models, data, platforms, and internal tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build intelligent systems and automation workflows across business functions.
• Develop agentic and multi‑agent architectures for orchestration, retrieval, validation, and execution.
• Integrate platforms and services through APIs, MCP, webhooks, databases, and internal systems.
• Build knowledge, retrieval, and memory layers across structured and unstructured data, and develop backend services and data pipelines.
• Create human‑in‑the‑loop workflows, approval logic, and quality‑control mechanisms.
• Own reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability of deployed systems.
• Establish technical standards, documentation, and implementation practices.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience in AI engineering, software engineering, systems architecture, automation, or applied machine learning.
• Track record of taking systems from prototype to stable production deployment.
• Deep working knowledge of LLMs in production, including agentic systems, tool use, retrieval, embeddings, vector search, contextual memory, and structured outputs.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical teams.

Required skills

• Advanced programming in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong experience with APIs, MCP, webhooks, databases, and data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, deployment, version control, monitoring, and observability.
• Understanding of authentication, permissions, data security, and system reliability.
