Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will manage day‑to‑day accounting activities for a Lebanese company, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with local regulations. This role works closely with management, HR, operations, sales, purchasing and external partners such as banks and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, maintain supporting documents, post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Handle accounts payable: verify supplier invoices, process payments, reconcile statements and monitor outstanding balances.
• Manage accounts receivable: issue invoices, follow up overdue payments, reconcile customer accounts and produce aging reports.
• Oversee cash and banking activities, perform petty‑cash counts, prepare bank deposits and reconcile bank statements monthly.
• Coordinate payroll with HR, verify salaries, deductions and advances, and record related accounting entries.
• Assist with tax filings, maintain VAT records and ensure compliance with Lebanese tax and payroll requirements.
• Prepare regular financial reports, cash‑flow statements, profit and loss summaries and balance‑sheet information for management.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation and analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in Lebanon.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Lebanese tax and payroll regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting/payroll software.
