Accountant – Finance Operations (Beirut)

About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Accountant to join its Lebanon Finance Department. Working under the Finance Manager, you will handle day‑to‑day data processing, ensure accurate budget coding, and support the organization’s humanitarian mission in Lebanon.
Key responsibilities
- Process daily data entry, bank and cash transactions using the Integra accounting system.
- Prepare and issue checks, bank letters, and transfers after verifying supporting documentation.
- Review and process petty‑cash expenses, advances, and program‑related payments in compliance with IRC policies.
- Maintain an organized filing system for financial, accounting, and contracting documents.
- Conduct site visits to process program payments and perform bi‑weekly/month‑end cash counts.
- Support audits and donor visits by providing timely documentation.
- Assist with finance reconciliations during month‑end and year‑end closing as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
- Minimum two years of relevant finance or administration experience; NGO experience is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a complex environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Integra accounting system or similar accounting software.
