Accountant – Country Office

About the role

The Accountant for the Country Office will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions, ensure accurate journal entries, and support month‑end close processes. This role is pivotal in maintaining reliable financial records and facilitating timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and a well‑organized filing system.
• Enter and reconcile transactions daily in the Costpoint ERP system.
• Prepare and review internal and external financial reports.
• Resolve discrepancies in the General Ledger and address audit findings.
• Coordinate vendor payments and verify supporting documentation.
• Assist with payroll preparation and tax authority reporting (e.g., MOF, VAT).
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and justifications.
• Ensure project allocations comply with donor requirements.

Required profile

• University degree (4 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive finance experience, preferably with INGOs.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with computerized accounting systems and ERP platforms.
