About the role
The Senior Accountant will oversee the organization’s financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and support strategic decision‑making through detailed analysis and compliance management.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and organize ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Generate financial reports for management review and analysis.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and tax regulations; prepare and file income and sales tax returns.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting, monitor budget performance and conduct variance analysis.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Utilize and recommend enhancements to accounting software and related financial systems.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting with several years in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
