Weapon Contamination Field Officer

About the role

The Weapon Contamination (WeC) Field Officer supports the ICRC’s efforts to reduce risks from unexploded weapons and hazardous munitions in the delegation’s area of responsibility in Lebanon. Working under the supervision of the WeC Field Manager, the officer contributes to evidence‑based decision‑making and strengthens information flows within the delegation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation, monitoring and follow‑up of approved WeC activities in the field.
• Collect, compile and maintain accurate WeC‑related data, including incident reports and community feedback.
• Assist in analysing information to inform programme adjustments and risk assessments.
• Maintain regular contact with local authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Legally eligible to work in Lebanon.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with field data.
• Excellent communication skills for liaison with authorities and communities.
• Commitment to the ICRC’s humanitarian principles and non‑discrimination policy.
