WASH Engineer Consultant – Design Review (Remote)

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme is seeking a qualified WASH Engineer Consultant to conduct a design review for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects within the Union of Zahle municipalities in Lebanon. The assignment is short‑term (2 months, 10 working days) and will be performed remotely, with occasional availability for meetings at the UNDP office.

Key responsibilities

• Review design documents and technical specifications of WASH interventions.
• Assess compliance with national and international WASH standards and best practices.
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve project design and implementation.
• Document findings in a concise report for UNDP and municipal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Professional engineer with proven experience in water, sanitation and hygiene projects.
• Familiarity with the Lebanese context and the challenges posed by large refugee populations.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality technical reviews within tight timelines.
