Tenure‑track Faculty – Political Science/International Affairs

About the role

The Department of Political Science and International Studies at the Lebanese American University seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise student research, and develop an active research agenda in political science or international affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in International Affairs and related fields on the Beirut and Byblos campuses.
• Develop and deliver innovative, evidence‑based, experiential learning experiences.
• Supervise senior projects, MA theses, and other student research.
• Advise and mentor students in their academic and professional development.
• Maintain an active research program, publish scholarly work, and seek external funding.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation activities.
• Build partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations.
• Participate in departmental, school, and university committees and service activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Political Science or International Relations from a recognized university.
• Specialization in American, African, or Asian studies, or focus on International Organizations and diplomatic affairs.
• Evidence of a research and publication record.
• Teaching experience in research methods or related courses.
• Preferred: success in securing external research funding and expertise in quantitative research methods.
