About the role

War Child Lebanon is looking for a Technical Coordinator in its Technical department, reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Programmes. The role oversees the day-to-day work of the technical team (technical officers) and ensures that child protection, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and education programmes are delivered with quality and consistency, using Evidence-Based Methodologies (EBMs). It also puts the capacity-building strategy into practice through training, mentoring and supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the technical team's workplan and make sure trainings, mentoring and supervision are planned, scheduled and delivered on time.
  • Supervise technical officers, giving regular guidance and feedback, and coordinate with the Cluster senior specialist on EBM packages.
  • Support the capacity-building strategy, spot capacity gaps and propose ways to close them, and collect lessons learned.
  • Contribute to proposal development and help adapt training materials and curricula to be culturally relevant.
  • Coach technical officers, help develop learning approaches such as e-learning and blended learning, and develop technical resources, SOPs and learning pathways.
  • Track and report on training and supervision activities, and represent War Child in national working groups and task forces.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, public health or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in humanitarian or development settings, with a focus on child protection, MHPSS and/or education.
  • Proven experience managing a team and running or supporting programmes in conflict-affected or complex environments, including at least two of education, child protection and MHPSS.
  • Experience contributing to project proposals for different donors and working with local and national partners.
  • Very good understanding of the Lebanon context and excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

  • Good knowledge of MEAL methods, tools and systems in the humanitarian sector.
  • Strong organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Additional training in adult learning, instructional design or organizational development is a strong asset.

The position is a local contract in Lebanon with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the in-country scale. Applications (CV in English) are accepted until November 14, 2026, on a rolling basis; early applications are strongly recommended.
