About the role
Our client, a vibrant sushi restaurant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is looking for a motivated Sushi Chef to join the kitchen team. This position offers the chance to develop Japanese culinary skills in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in preparing sushi and other Japanese dishes.
- Wash, chop, and measure ingredients according to menu specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow food safety and hygiene standards.
- Learn and apply proper sushi techniques and presentation.
- Support the team during busy service periods to ensure timely food preparation.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and stock rotation.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef – Sushi or in a similar kitchen role.
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
