Senior Specialist Regulatory Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Regulatory Counsel to head the global regulatory function of Whish Money. The role combines strategic advisory with hands‑on leadership, guiding the company’s expansion into new markets while ensuring compliance with evolving fintech regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive Whish Money’s global regulatory strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
• Lead licensing and authorization processes across multiple jurisdictions, from feasibility studies to final approvals.
• Provide legal and regulatory guidance on fintech products, payments, remittances and digital financial services.
• Serve as the primary liaison with financial regulators, central banks and supervisory authorities.
• Establish and maintain robust compliance and governance frameworks for all operating entities.
• Monitor global regulatory developments, assess impact and implement necessary changes.
• Build, mentor and manage a high‑performing regulatory team, fostering a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• 7–12+ years of experience in regulatory law, preferably within fintech, payments or digital financial services.
• Proven track record of leading multi‑jurisdictional licensing and compliance initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable business solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and experience engaging with senior executives and regulators.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including team building and mentorship.
