Senior Research Assistant – Cell & Molecular Biology (Lab)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Research Assistant to join our Cell and Molecular Biology laboratory. The successful candidate will support multiple projects investigating anti‑cancer, anti‑inflammatory and antioxidant activities of natural and synthetic compounds in cancer and autoimmune disease models.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage several ongoing research projects, including weekly lab meetings.
• Design, execute, troubleshoot and optimise cellular and molecular assays.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and train new lab members.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, order supplies and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collect, organise, analyse and interpret experimental data.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation, literature reviews and scientific presentations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related field.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in a cell and molecular biology laboratory.
• Strong scientific writing, communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Nucleic acid extraction, purification and quantification.
• Polymerase chain reaction (PCR, RT‑PCR, qPCR).
• Cellular functional assays (proliferation, death, cycle, migration, invasion, isolation).
• Cloning, transfection and other genetic manipulation techniques.
• Protein extraction, Western blotting and ELISA.
• Fluorescence and immunofluorescence microscopy.
• Statistical analysis using GraphPad Prism, SPSS, ImageJ/Fiji, FlowJo or equivalent.
