Senior Human Resources Officer

About the role

We are an oil & gas distribution company launching operations in Lebanon and seeking our first HR hire to build the function from the ground up. This builder role will design the HR framework while delivering the hiring plan needed to get the business trading.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the initial hiring drive, prioritising the Sales team – sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers, onboarding and probation follow‑up.
• Establish local sourcing channels and a durable candidate network in Lebanon.
• Create HR policies, procedures, contracts, employee files and core HR processes from a blank page.
• Manage payroll inputs, attendance, leave, benefits, insurance and personnel records.
• Ensure compliance with Lebanese labour law and statutory requirements.
• Advise management on manpower planning, organisational structure, job descriptions and compensation.
• Scale the function deliberately by maturing performance management and the wider employee lifecycle as headcount grows.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of hands‑on HR experience, covering both generalist and recruitment functions.
• Proven track record hiring commercial and sales profiles.
• Experience setting up HR from scratch or within a start‑up/new operation (strong advantage).
• Working knowledge of Lebanese labour practice and HR administration.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Resourceful, self‑directed and comfortable operating without existing infrastructure or a team.
