Senior Data Engineer – Microsoft Azure Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and high‑performance data solutions that align with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and related tools.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT frameworks within Azure, ensuring automation, accuracy and efficiency.
• Apply data quality standards and monitoring with Azure Monitor and Microsoft Purview.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver BI solutions via Power BI.
• Monitor, profile and enhance performance of Azure‑based data solutions.
• Manage and scale cloud data platforms including Azure Databricks, Stream Analytics and Cosmos DB.
• Implement security best practices using Azure AD, encryption and role‑based access.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote Azure best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectures and workflows.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Azure advancements and drive adoption of new features.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience, with significant exposure to Azure Data Services.
• Proven ability to design and orchestrate data pipelines at scale.
• Strong understanding of data governance and cataloguing using Microsoft Purview.
