Senior Backend Engineer – Platform & DevOps

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who will own both the development of high‑performance backend services and the cloud platform that runs them. You will work closely with product, engineering and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for our on‑demand e‑commerce and delivery business.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to turn business requirements into scalable backend solutions.
• Design, develop, test and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel) and build RESTful APIs and micro‑services.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code and optimise performance, database queries, caching and scalability.
• Participate in architecture discussions, conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Design, build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency.
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines for fast, secure software delivery.
• Manage containerised applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and performance dashboards to improve observability.
• Handle production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and apply security best practices.

Required profile

• Passionate about building scalable backend systems and owning the underlying cloud platform.
• Strong sense of ownership from design through production reliability.
