Senior Architect – Engineering Unit

About the role

The UNIT is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead multidisciplinary design teams and deliver complex projects across the Middle East. You will guide projects from concept design through IFC documentation while ensuring design excellence, technical quality, and effective coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept design through tender and IFC stages.
• Manage project design teams and coordinate multidisciplinary consultants.
• Review and approve architectural deliverables and ensure compliance with client requirements.
• Lead design workshops and coordination meetings.
• Prepare and review concept, schematic, design development, tender, and IFC documentation.
• Review shop drawings and develop architectural standards and technical details.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives and ensure compliance with international building codes.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape, interior design, and BIM teams.
• Interface directly with clients, contractors, and authorities.
• Manage project schedules, design deliverables, and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure drawings comply with company QA/QC procedures and conduct internal design reviews.
• Mentor junior architects and draftsmen while maintaining high technical and presentation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• 8–12 years of professional experience, with proven leadership of multidisciplinary design projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction systems and detailing.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
• Solid understanding of BIM workflows, International Building Codes (IBC), NFPA, and accessibility standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client‑management skills.
• Preferred PMP certification or project‑management experience.
• Experience on projects in Iraq, GCC, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, government, and high‑rise developments.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction administration.
