Senior Accountant – Qatar Branch

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead our finance team at the Qatar branch. The role involves overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organize subordinates' work to ensure timely data collection, updating, and analysis.
• Monitor application of accounting and financial procedures to guarantee compliance.
• Develop and propose policies and procedures to improve the accounting function.
• Process ledgers and post advanced entries according to established procedures.
• Analyze ledgers and reconcile accounts to maintain an up‑to‑date view of the company’s financial position.
• Supervise transaction processing and reporting to meet legislative requirements.
• Identify, investigate, and correct routine errors and discrepancies.
• Prepare scheduled statistical and financial reports and ad‑hoc reports for management.
• Manage medium‑sized projects, provide feedback, and ensure objectives are achieved.
• Maintain knowledge of external legislative accounting framework and ensure departmental compliance.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Provide technical supervision, evaluate, and coach junior staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of local Qatari accounting laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, written and spoken.
