Senior Accountant

About the role

Capelli Sport USA, working through Fact Universal S.A.L., a Lebanese back-office provider for its offices in the US, Germany, China and the MENA region, is looking for a reliable and experienced Senior Accountant in Jounieh/Harissa. The role oversees daily accounting, analyzes financial performance and advises senior management so that sound financial decisions can be made.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily and monthly transactions (journal entries, deposits, fund transfers, checks) and perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and analyses for European operations, and manage annual budgets and month-end and year-end closing.
• Support capital expenditure reviews, forecasting, project close-out and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Supervise accounting staff, train them and coordinate with external auditors.
• Monitor inventory, purchases, stock adjustments, production costs and cost of goods sold, and review manufacturing costs and cost variances.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, European accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory reporting.

Required profile

• 5-7 years of accounting and finance experience, including a senior-level position; international accounting experience is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Excellent English (speaking, reading and writing) is mandatory.
• Willingness to work U.S. Eastern Time business hours; the position is on-site and not remote.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CFA or an equivalent is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Accounting software and ERP systems such as SAP, QuickBooks or similar (financial, inventory and costing modules).
• Financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and cost accounting.
• Internal audit procedures, risk assessment and internal control frameworks.
