Remote Corporate Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant

About the role

AccuFin Services is looking for a detail‑oriented Remote Corporate Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to support the accounting functions of medium‑to‑large companies. The role goes beyond basic bookkeeping, requiring strong knowledge of accrual accounting, journal entries, and month‑end close processes while handling large volumes of financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries.
• Record and reconcile accruals, pre‑payments, amortization, and other month‑end adjustments.
• Perform bank, credit‑card, general‑ledger, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain detailed supporting schedules for balance‑sheet accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing activities.
• Review general‑ledger activity to ensure proper classification.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other corporate accounting tasks.
• Validate opening balances, historical transactions, and financial information.
• Participate in accounting‑system migrations, data clean‑up, and inter‑system reconciliations when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, or a related field.
• 5+ years of corporate accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably with medium‑sized or larger firms.
• Strong understanding of accrual‑basis and general‑ledger accounting.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• NetSuite (required).
• Sage Intacct (required).
• QuickBooks Online (a plus).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data cleaning, large‑data reconciliation).
