Procurement Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer to lead the end‑to‑end procurement process for engineering projects within a large infrastructure company. The role ensures timely acquisition of high‑quality materials, equipment and services while meeting cost, quality and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle: supplier sourcing, RFQ preparation, bid solicitation, technical and commercial evaluation, negotiations, purchase order issuance and order expediting.
• Review technical specifications, engineering drawings, BOQs and material requisitions to align procurement activities with project requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify local and international suppliers and subcontractors based on capability, quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Prepare technical and commercial bid comparison reports and recommend supplier selections.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and contractual conditions.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, QA/QC, Finance, Warehouse and Logistics to support project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, track order progress and ensure timely delivery.
• Resolve procurement issues such as delays, quality concerns, non‑conformances and contractual disputes.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and contract files.
• Identify cost‑optimization opportunities and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of procurement experience in engineering, construction, EPC, infrastructure or oil & gas sectors.
• Proven experience in technical procurement, supplier evaluation and commercial negotiations.
• Hands‑on experience with both local and international sourcing and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
