About the role
UNDP Lebanon is recruiting a National Agricultural Consultant to support the Food Security Project aimed at strengthening the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute’s seed programme. The consultant will work from Beirut and travel across the country to assess and improve the institute’s operational and management systems.
Key responsibilities
- Review and implement the Terms of Reference for the seed programme.
- Strengthen LARI’s institutional capacity, including operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Conduct field visits to the North, Bekaa, Mount Lebanon and the South to monitor seed production activities.
- Provide technical advice on certified seed production and management.
- Support the development of management tools and reporting mechanisms.
Required profile
- Relevant university degree in agriculture, agronomy or related field.
- Proven experience in seed production or agricultural research within Lebanon.
- Ability to work in a crisis‑affected environment and travel frequently.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.

- Seed certification processes.
- Agricultural research methodologies.
