Machine Learning & AI Internship

About the role

We are looking for a Machine Learning & AI Intern to join OLX Lebanon’s engineering team. The internship provides hands‑on experience building and experimenting with machine learning systems, including setting up a local MCP server and developing a Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline. You will work closely with senior engineers and contribute to real‑world projects that support our marketplace platform.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining a local MCP server environment for model development.
• Support the implementation of a basic RAG pipeline by integrating retrieval and generation components.
• Prepare, structure, and group datasets for use in the RAG system.
• Clean and format data to ensure compatibility with the pipeline.
• Run test cases on the MCP server and RAG pipeline, reviewing outputs for functionality and quality.
• Document setup steps, configurations, and workflows to enable reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot simple technical issues under guidance.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Computer Science or related program.
• 0‑1 years of experience in AI, software development, or data science.
• Basic understanding of machine‑learning workflows through academic or personal projects.
• Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team‑player attitude with a collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Familiarity with MCP server setup and configuration.
• Knowledge of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline concepts.
• Data handling, preprocessing, and structuring of datasets.
• Introductory knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) concepts.
• General awareness of machine‑learning workflows and ability to follow technical documentation.
