Junior Quantity Surveyor Engineer

About the role

The Junior Quantity Surveyor Engineer assists in managing project quantities, cost estimates, BOQ preparation and contract documentation. The role supports senior QS team members in verifying site quantities, preparing reports and coordinating with project stakeholders so that cost control is accurate and timely throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs.
• Support cost estimation and budgeting for projects.
• Verify site quantities and progress with senior QS engineers.
• Prepare interim valuations, progress reports and financial documentation.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accurate measurement and costing.
• Assist in contract administration and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and contractors on cost control.
• Maintain organized records of measurements, contracts and reports.
• Support the senior QS team in reporting and project close-out.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost control; fresh graduates with internships can apply.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good communication, coordination and teamwork, and attention to detail while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost estimation and contract documentation.
• Strong analytical, numerical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant QS software.
