IT Specialist – Operations

About the role

VAS Global Services is seeking an IT Specialist – Operations to provide on‑site technical support at its Visa Application Centre in Lebanon. The role ensures end‑user systems, peripherals, biometric equipment and overall centre infrastructure run smoothly while working closely with the central IT team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1 on‑site support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365, email, VPN, printers, scanners and basic network connectivity.
• Maintain and troubleshoot biometric devices, passport readers, CCTV/NVR systems and access‑control equipment.
• Assist the central IT team with equipment checks, hardware replacements, cabling, physical inspections and incident reporting according to SLAs.
• Keep accurate IT asset inventories, ticket logs and technical documentation, and support new‑joiner onboarding and routine maintenance.
• Coordinate with external vendors for technical visits, repairs and equipment replacements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, help‑desk or desktop support.
• Ability to work under pressure in a public‑facing environment and follow established procedures.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends or extended hours as required.

Required skills

• Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams.
• Basic LAN/WLAN, switches, Wi‑Fi, VPN connectivity and network troubleshooting.
• Biometric devices, passport scanners, CCTV/NVR and access‑control equipment.
• Familiarity with FortiGate firewalls and SD‑WAN concepts.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira or Freshdesk.
