Information Management Specialist

About the role

DRC Lebanon's Information Management (IM) Specialist manages, analyses and shares data on programme activities so that humanitarian responses are evidence-based. The role covers external representation, managing existing IM systems such as ALPHA and RIMS, setting up Power BI dashboards, creating operation maps, supporting data monitoring and informing advocacy.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure information systems comply with PIM standards, data protection guidelines and DRC internal rules
• Develop data collection tools and methodologies, design and manage database systems, and keep data quality high for programme decisions
• Train staff on digital tools and identify technical gaps in programmes
• Extract data for reporting with MEAL and programme teams, hold data sharing agreements, and clean, de-duplicate and verify data
• Maintain and develop Protection Monitoring tools, administer beneficiary lists, and create intervention maps and emergency dashboards
• Generate quantitative analysis of protection data and support capacity building of local partners
• Administer ALPHA, RIMS and KOBO tools, support users with data extraction and validation, update ODK and KOBO forms, and prepare RIMS handover to ministries
• Act as focal point for GDPR compliance, data protection guidance, data sharing agreements and beneficiary list requests
• Represent DRC externally (e.g. IMWG), lead partner enrolment, manage partner follow-up, deliver training and improve referral pathways

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in information/data management systems in a humanitarian context
• Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or a related field
• Full proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic
• Extensive experience with Excel (including VBA), ODK and Kobo forms, and Power BI dashboards
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases and data analysis in R or SPSS
• Training experience on IM systems, and experience editing IM products with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
• INGO experience preferred
