IT Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring an IT Officer for its Lebanon offices, including field offices. The role assists and facilitates the installation and configuration of IT infrastructure, staff training and day-to-day IT operations, working closely with the Senior IT Manager and all program sectors to keep IT functioning properly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 IT support, act as technical reference for IT procurement in Lebanon and perform preventative maintenance on computers and networks
• Support corporate applications, help evaluate and procure new applications, and work within a shared services model with Programmes, Finance and HR
• Manage backups, network security and data loss prevention, and maintain software/hardware inventory and network documentation
• Investigate local internet connectivity options and assess connectivity solutions such as VPNs and satellite options (e.g. Starlink)
• Train users and IT staff, test new technology and prepare reports for the Senior IT Manager and HQ
• Conduct the annual IT audit, maintain the IT asset registry and identify local suppliers through tenders
• Supervise and coach IT staff, coordinate tasks between offices, and plan technology investments and software licensing budgets
• Contribute to the Country IT Strategy and assist on various IT projects as needed

Required profile

• Graduation or college degree
• At least 3 years of experience as an IT professional or IT support staff member
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Customer service experience, attention to detail, strong integrity and a high sense of urgency

Required skills

• Excellent technical knowledge of PC hardware and the Microsoft platform (Excel, Outlook)
• MCITP course or equivalent experience in a Windows Server environment (must)
• ITIL V3 certificate is a plus
• Experience installing, configuring and managing wired and wireless LANs
