Head of Maintenance Department

About the role

Mets Energy is looking for an experienced Head of Maintenance Department to lead its maintenance, workshop, and field service teams. The role demands strong technical expertise in diesel generator systems and the ability to drive reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage maintenance engineers, field service technicians and workshop staff.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes for diesel generators and related power systems.
• Oversee workshop and field maintenance activities, ensuring timely, high‑quality execution.
• Provide advanced technical leadership in troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and root‑cause analysis of mechanical, electrical and control failures.
• Manage spare‑parts planning, inventory optimisation, procurement coordination and departmental budgeting.
• Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs, analyse performance data and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE regulations and quality‑management standards.
• Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Operations and Procurement to support customer requirements.
• Develop technical procedures, maintenance standards and best practices while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10–12 years of progressive experience in diesel generator maintenance, power generation or heavy‑equipment industries.
• Proven experience leading maintenance departments, workshop operations and field service teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and drive operational excellence.
