Financial Controller – Zambia

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a leading manufacturing and distribution company in Zambia. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, robust cost control, and compliance while supporting strategic and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow and financial planning.
• Monitor costs, profitability and overall financial performance.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations and working‑capital management.
• Support manufacturing costing, variance analysis and cost optimisation.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure accurate financial data through ERP and financial systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of finance and accounting experience, including senior controller responsibilities.
• Proven experience in FMCG, distribution or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Experience with audits, compliance, internal controls and financial analysis.
• Experience in inventory management and manufacturing costing is highly preferred.

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Proficiency with financial software.
