Financial Controller – Cape Town, South Africa

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a prestigious international hotel in Cape Town. The role combines strategic financial planning with day‑to‑day operational control to ensure the property delivers strong financial performance and complies with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Prepare, review and present timely financial reports.
• Monitor cost‑control measures and drive financial efficiency across all departments.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risk.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with external auditors and support smooth audit processes.
• Provide senior management with financial analysis, insights and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years as a Financial Controller.
• Proven experience in the hospitality/hotel industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Good understanding of audits, compliance and financial controls.

• Proficiency with financial systems and ERP software.
