Finance Manager - Lebanon

About the role

The Finance Manager holds a senior position within Holdal Group, leading the Lebanese finance and accounting team and acting as part of the Lebanon leadership team. The role covers multiple legal entities and a diverse portfolio of businesses, ensuring compliance with financial and tax regulations, robust financial controls and effective management of risks, budgets, reporting and cash flow.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy of accounting books and financial statements across entities, in line with IFRS, local financial and tax requirements and accounting best practice, and oversee timely accounting closings and submissions.
• Prepare and submit financial statements, consolidated reports, management P&Ls and key dashboards, and lead monthly financial presentations to management; review draft audit reports and confirm issuance of final audited accounts.
• Act as finance budget leader: set budget calendars, own the annual budget exercise and secure approvals from Budget Centre Heads, the CFO and the CEO.
• Ensure compliance with local financial and tax regulations, file reports on time, pay dues without penalties and work with local tax advisors, Group Finance and Legal and public authorities.
• Identify, assess and manage financial risks, coordinate with management and Internal Audit, and ensure risks are properly insured.
• Develop and implement first-line preventive and detective financial controls, approve daily payments in line with the Group authority matrix, and work with the second-line controllers.
• Maintain a daily cash-flow forecast and updated cash and bank position reports across entities and banking relationships.
• Lead, coach and appraise a sizeable finance team covering accounting, receivables, inventory, budgeting and reporting, and liaise with the Tax function and the Group Head of Financial Control.
• Act as a finance business partner to the Lebanon leadership and business leaders, providing scenario analysis and decision support, and recommend cost and working capital improvements.
• Improve automation, systems, data security and reporting, using the latest tools including AI.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is a plus.
• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in financial management, accounting and taxation, with at least 5 years in a managerial role across multiple legal entities and business models.
• Solid knowledge of Lebanese tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills; excellent English and Arabic (French is a plus).
• Willingness to travel within Lebanon and internationally as required.
