Executive Director, Finance Information Systems

About the role

The Finance Information Systems Office seeks an Executive Director to provide strategic leadership for the university’s finance technology ecosystem across campuses and medical centers. This senior position drives digital transformation, enhances financial controls, and supports data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a multi‑year Finance Information Systems strategy and technology roadmap.
• Align finance technology initiatives with institutional priorities and the university’s digital transformation agenda.
• Prioritize and oversee the finance technology portfolio to maximize business value.
• Lead governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of enterprise financial systems, including ERP standardization.
• Identify system enhancement opportunities and manage implementation projects.
• Advance enterprise financial reporting and business intelligence capabilities, delivering operational, regulatory, and board reports.
• Expand self‑service analytics and dashboarding for finance leadership.
• Establish and enforce enterprise standards for data governance, master data management, chart‑of‑accounts integrity, and data architecture.
• Chair the Finance Data Governance Committee and drive automation initiatives, including workflow automation, integrations, and robotic process automation (RPA).
• Develop multi‑year finance technology investment plans, monitor project delivery, budgets, and benefits realization.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Finance and the IT department, building technical capability and succession plans within the Finance Information Systems function.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience leading finance information systems or finance technology functions.
• Proven track record in ERP optimization, data governance, and financial reporting automation.
• Strong ability to collaborate with finance leaders, CFOs, and IT partners across multiple campuses.
• Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale digital transformation and automation projects.
