English Teacher – Remedial Program

About the role

The English Teacher – Remedial Program delivers targeted, high‑impact English language instruction to students who need additional support to succeed academically. Working within the Center for Languages at Université La Sagesse, the instructor designs tailored lessons, monitors progress, and collaborates closely with academic staff to ensure alignment with university standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver remedial English courses that build essential language skills and university‑level competency.
• Develop customized lesson plans, course materials, and learning activities aligned with student needs.
• Adapt teaching strategies dynamically to address diverse learning styles and academic gaps.
• Maintain and manage course materials, assignments, and grades using Moodle.
• Keep accurate, audit‑ready records of student attendance, coursework, and outcomes.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.
• Collaborate with academic staff and language coordinators to ensure curriculum alignment.
• Participate in program evaluations and academic alignment reviews as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in English Literature, English Translation, or English Language.
• 2–3 years proven teaching experience in English language instruction.
• Full proficiency in English; Arabic and French are a plus.
• High patience, understanding, and encouragement when supporting students with language barriers.
• Clear communication with students and academic supervisors.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical grading practices, and a supportive academic atmosphere.
