Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will lead Save the Children’s education portfolio in Lebanon, ensuring high‑quality programme design, implementation and monitoring for tens of thousands of children. Reporting to the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the Adviser will provide strategic direction, technical expertise and partnership development across emergency and nexus education programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out the national education strategy, integrating emergency response and cross‑cutting issues.
• Provide technical input for country annual plans, area plans, emergency preparedness and sector strategies.
• Oversee programme quality, data reliability and outcomes across the education portfolio.
• Lead fundraising identification and technical proposal development.
• Manage partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and local civil society.
• Supervise and mentor the Education Specialist and support field teams in three locations.
• Maintain a central repository of tools, manuals and guidance for programme development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading large‑scale education programmes, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
• Experience managing staff and building technical capacity of partners.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
