Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of high‑quality education programmes for tens of thousands of children across Lebanon. Reporting to the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the role provides technical leadership, strategic planning and partnership development for Save the Children’s education portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out the education strategy for emergency response and nexus programming, ensuring alignment with cross‑cutting issues.
• Provide technical input to country annual plans, area plans, emergency preparedness plans and sector strategies.
• Maintain an overview of programme progress and share updates with senior management.
• Ensure integration of education programmes with other sectors where possible.
• Deliver technical expertise, quality assurance and guidance to guarantee high‑quality outcomes and reliable data.
• Supervise the creation of a technical capacity‑building plan for education staff and local partners.
• Develop and maintain a central database of tools, manuals and guidance to support new programming.
• Oversee the development of technical tools and resources, working closely with the Education Specialist and field teams.

Required profile

• Proven strategic leadership in the education sector.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic and operational plans.
• Demonstrated ability to identify fundraising needs and lead technical proposal development.
• Strong partnership‑building skills with government, UN agencies, NGOs and civil‑society actors.
• Direct line‑management experience, particularly supervising an Education Specialist.
